Ode to Roommates

June 6th is the date when I found out my rooming assignment for my first semester of college at good ol' Utah State. As soon as I saw their names, I creeped on them on facebook for an embarrassing amount of time and tried to get a grasp on who these girls were. I had many worries prior to moving up to Logan, but now that I think of it, I was silly to worry at all. Little did I know that these 4 other strangers that I would be living with for the next nine months would become to be some of my best friends.

You may ask, why this sudden urge to make this statement of friendship? I'll tell you why. I've been home for a little more than a week and already I miss the crap out of these girls. The sad part is that I still have two more weeks till I see them again. Christmas break is always nice to get away from school and see my family, but I feel like I'm missing something. My life is divided between two homes, Highland and Logan. But it's also divided between two families, my biological family and my Logan family. After being in such small quarters with five other girls, as well as the other rooms in our building, I have become accustomed to seeing these people every day, all the time.  My day is not complete without Megan Frodsham giving me a massive hug, or seeing Megan Meyer going commando.

Granted we are not perfect. Cram six girls into a limited space and things can get ugly. We have our disagreements and get frustrated at each other, but in the end we always end up forgiving each other. The negatives memories  are overtaken by the positives memories in a heart beat. These girls have been there for me through the good and the bad. They made me get out of my shell and have helped college become an amazing experience. I honestly couldn't of asked for better roommates and don't know how I got to so lucky to have them.

So here is to another semester of late night talks, slurpee runs and nifty fifty dances.  Here's to another semester of classes and freaking out about grades and professors. Here's to more memories that will last a lifetime. I miss you Ali, Megan, Nicole, Megan and Lindsie and I can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
